Alex Kingston was born in March 11, 1963. She growed up in London, Kingston. Her first introduction to theater when she was 5 years old as she played the role of the angel Gabriel in a native play. She said her mother made her these big and most beautiful wings for her role. She added that all other kinds- without wings- were very jealous of her , she was very excited but then she got a little bit upset when she knew that Gabriel was really a guy. Her English teacher -at the all-girls grammar school she attended to at Epsom- was encouraging her to follow an acting career. That's why she often had the leading roles in the school palys. But her first real and professional role came up at the age of 15 as she played the role of a judo-trained bully on the successful British TV series “Grange Hill.” Her acceptance in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts was a big milestone in her life as she moved to London and begun her two years study in the academy. After she completed her study, Kingston worked in repertory theater across England. She appeared in “Much Ado About Nothing,” “King Lear,” “Love’s Labours Lost,” “The Curse of the Starving Class” and “The Bright and Bold Design.” as she joined the famed Royal Shakespeare Company. She also starred in the Birmingham Repertory’s productions of “Othello,” “The Alchemist,” “Traveling Players,” “Saved,” “Julius Caesar” and “See How They Run.” Kingstone's roles were not just on stage, she moved to the British television and the American Televesion as well starting from “A Killing Exchange,” “The Bill,” “Crocodile Shoes,” “The Knock” and “I Hate Christmas,” “Weapons of Mass Distraction” and “The Infiltrator.” At first, she hated Los Angeles. Alex Kingston took off for the city in July 1997, leaving behind a healthy stage and television career in London and a faltering marriage to actor Ralph Fiennes. Waiting for her in California were a handful of friends, a role on the hit NBC series ER, and a lot of uncertainty. On top of that, the 35-year-old British actress came face-to-face with what she refers to as "blazing Los Angeles," and for a while that blaze--made up of everything from nondescript modern architecture to confounding voice-mail systems--got the best of her. She clearly has recovered from her culture shock."Once I got settled here, I was able to d ay, 'OK, I'm here now, I'm safe, I have a car, and it's going to be OK,'" she says. The fact that the house she found in L.A. resembled her London flat helped the transition. That's where the resemblance to England stops and her fascination with Americana begins.
